The last time New Radiant and Victory played against each other in a competitive game was back in 2018, in the top tier of Maldives Football. New Radiant side led by coach Sobah Mohamed (Soba) won the game by 3-1.

The resurgence of New Radiant and Victory has been a hot topic among the Maldivian football community. Both the giant clubs are aiming for promotion and their respective fans are backing the fight. Many fans have visited the games of New Radiant and Victory so far. But numerous fans to be expected at the National Stadium.

The victory team coached by Sri Lankan, Pakir Ali, started the competition by defeating BG Sports Club 2-1. But, Victory was held to a 1-1 stalemate against LT Sports Club in the second game. So, against New Radiant, Victory must aim for the points to be in a favorable position to reach the next round.

New Radiant is completely enjoying their return to competitive football. They have won both games so far. New Radiant defeated Club Teenage by 2-1 in the opening game and thrashed Lorenzo Sports Club by 6-0 in the following fixture. New Radiant will look forward to keeping the momentum against the Victory.

Victory and New Radiant is more than just a club. Those are community-based brands as well. The game between New Radiant and Victory is named “Ras Vaadha” because both the clubs are in the top bracket based on their historical achievements.
