Former National Team defender Ahmed Abdulla (Lily) and experienced second division duo, Mohamed Yafaau (Yaa) and Vishan Abdul Majeed join Victory Sports Club for the upcoming season.
Lily, a versatile defender who has played in the top tier of Maldives Football for more than a decade, has previously had successive spells at New Radiant Sports Club, Maziya Sports & Recreation and TC Sports Club. A defender well known for his consistency and tactical discipline, will be a huge addition to the current Victory squad.
Yaa represented various teams in the second division and also played for the National Futsal Team. Vishan, who was the goalkeeper when BG Sports Club played in the second division last year. Yaa & Vishan could be vital in Victory’s squad depth in the upcoming season.
Victory’s management is still seeking more additions to the squad. Their main aim is to form a team which could be enough to seal promotion to the top division. The victory team will be led by one of their former players, Sobah Mohamed Ibrahim (Soba). A coach who has won a lot in his spells with various clubs in the Maldives.
Victory have signed up key stars of Maldives Football, with the likes of National Team Captain, Akram Abdul Ghani (Aku), and former Victorian’s Mohamed Umair and Hussain Niyaz Mohamed (Bokuree).
Another key additions to the squad are, TC Sports Club Captain, Ahmed Rilwan (Ben), experienced and versatile player, Moosa Yaamin (Yaambe), promising fullback - Hussain Faisal (Faito), former Victory and New Radiant defender - Saddam Hussain, along with skilful midfielder - Ibrahim Sinah.
The second division football tournament is scheduled to begin in October and Victory is also planning to take part in the FA Cup this season.
