Victory SC set to kick off the season against PK
Victory Sports Club will begin their 2nd Division season against Club PK.
Victory SC is set take part in FAM 2nd Division Football Tournament for consecutive year, this year Victory is drawn in Group C. Last season, with Sri Lankan coach Pakir Ali, Victory SC couldnt pass from the group stage.
Along with Victory SC, four other teams are set battle in this group. Those are, CLUB PK, Lorenzo Sports Club, Bis Buru Sports & Lagoons.
Victory SC’s Group Stage Matches:
28th December 2023: Victory vs PK
10th January 2024: Victory vs Lorenzo
22nd January 2024: Victory vs Lagoons
30th January 2024: Victory vs Bis Buru
Due to delays about the starting date of the competition, Victory SC had to reprogram their preparations for the season. Victory SC is one of the most, well formed teams in the second division this year.
Under the guidance of Coach, Sobah Mohamed (Soba), Victory SC eyeing a promotion to the first division.
This year, Football Association of Maldives (FAM) have set their rule that two teams that reaches the final of the second division tournament, will guarantee an automatic promotion slot to the first division.
Compare to last year, Victory SC have accumulated a very good overall squad. Players who consistently performed in Maldives Top tier and National Football Team for more than a decade, Mohamed Umair and Akram Abdul Ghani, will be ones to watch in this year’s tournament.
The foreign players in Victory SC team have previously performed in Maldives Premier League. So, it will be another boost for Victory SC to reach their target.
Victory SC is blessed with off field appointments as well. Gold Captain, Assad Abdul Ghani, will be taking huge role as the manager of the team to assist the overall club operations.
